ART

Welcome to my Album Pre-order!

I am raising money to fund the recording of my album by selling advance copies.

In January 2010 I will record my first solo album. The music that is flowing out of me now is giving me goosebumps and I want it to be heard the way I hear it, that means recording it right in a great studio with great people. I'm inviting you along for the ride. Because we're all in the art together.

I will be working with the amazing producer, Sean Slade (Radio Head, Dresden Dolls, and more) as well as some fine recording engineers and musicians on the East and West coasts of America.

Here is a break down of where this money will be going:

$5000 to start recording - GOAL #1 was reached on January 4th, 2010

$10,000 will pay to finish recording

$15,000 will allow me to press the album - including mastering, art, pressing, limited edition pre-order copies and a surprise!

$20,000 will allow me to start promotion and launch my album release tour.

Any size donation is welcome. Small donations over time are wonderful! You can break your donations up and we'll total it all at the end to get you the package you want.

Extra goodies! Let's say you bought the $100 package and you get a shirt, but then you want a second shirt for a friend - no problem! Another $20 will get you that shirt!

If there isn't a package above that looks perfect to you please write to me - I'm sure we can come up with something good.

Here is how the time line will go:

Sept-Nov 2009: Song writing and development in Berlin.

December 2009: Rehearsing with band in San Francisco - along with a residency at the Climate theater three Tuesdays in December 12/8, 12/15, 12/22 ticket link: Climate Theater Events

January 2010: Recording with Sean Slade, a wonderful producer who has worked with a ton of amazing people such as Radiohead, and The Dresden Dolls.

Release date TBA. I'll be working hard to get the album out into the world as soon as possible!!!

Everyone who pledges to the project will get a chance to win the Berlin Ukulele:

"The Berlin Ukulele" signed by Kim Boekbinder, Amanda Palmer, and Neil Gaiman - Neil signed his name and wrote "Dream dangerously" across the front. This is the Ukulele Kim will be playing at all her Berlin shows and the one she will use on the album. You will get the Ukulele in February - after recording. It is a lovely instrument.

Love, K
